Sansin Corporation Announces Dec Topcoat, Breathable, Durable Topcoat for Popular Sansin Dec Wood Finish

Strathroy, Ontario, Canada – September 12, 2022 – The Sansin Corporation, a global leader in environmentally friendly, high-performance wood protection, today announced that it has launched a new product for deck protection, Dec Topcoat. Dec Topcoat can be applied over Dec stain as a one or two coat system.

The water-borne, breathable topcoat finish is highly protective and exceptionally durable. Dec Topcoat is applied to a first coat of Sansin Dec in a range of 100+ colors, giving enhanced water repellency and a fuller finish that elevates the matte look of Dec to a medium-luster shine.

“Our customers wanted something that offered the rugged durability of our popular Dec product, but with a more finished look,” explained Caroline March-Long, Sansin’s Director of Sales & Marketing. “In combination with Dec, Dec Topcoat enhances the beauty and durability of the finish. Dec is well known for aggressive protection in freeze/thaw climates that can wreak havoc on decks.

Dec Topcoat is tintable with the base color to boost UV protection. It is also permeable, which protects the wood from within while allowing the wood to breathe and release moisture.

Dec Topcoat can protect any deck material, including cedar, exotic hardwoods, Southern pine or pressure-treated lumber, to name a few. Dec Topcoat is UV stable, water-repellent, low in VOCs and non-flammable with easy soap and water cleanup.

Dec Topcoat is available anywhere Sansin is sold (click here to find a dealer) or online.
