NATURALLY PERFECT^® WOOD PROTECTION

This new 3,300-square-foot home, designed by H2D Architecture & Design and constructed by Carlisle Classic Homes, was built as a weekend family getaway on Guemes Island in Washington with a ‘rustic modern’ vibe. Beautiful wooden elements, coated with Sansin finishes and applied by Professional Finishes, offer eco-friendly, durable and easy-to-maintain protection. The rough sawn Douglas fir timbers, which stretch from the front patio all the way through to the back porch, were cleaned with Multi-Wash, allowed to dry for two weeks, and then finished with two coats of Sansin SDF in a dark brown custom color. The massive six-piece Douglas fir slider door was also coated in SDF to match the timbers. The custom-milled rough-faced tight-knot cedar channel siding was coated on all sides with a dark tailor-tinted tone of SDF, creating a dramatic statement. Inside, the custom-milled tight knot smooth face cedar ceilings and soffits were protected with SDF in a ivory custom color to beautifully contrast the dark timbers.
