NATURALLY PERFECT^® WOOD PROTECTION

The Rocky Pines Community Centre, located in British Columbia and designed by Lubor Trubka Associates Architects, serves as a large, multi-functional community space on Lower Nicola Indian Band land.

The building architecture features a post and beam structure that uses mass timber elements such as glue laminated beams and timber, along with interior wood featuring select tight knot Ponderosa Pine. Sansin’s architectural wood finishes were used for their beauty, protection and low-VOC profile. The posts and beams are coated with KP-12UVW and Sansin SDF in a custom Light Honey. The pine interior boards and trim feature KP-12UVW and ENS Optimum Clear.

NATURALLY PERFECT^® WOOD PROTECTION

Toronto’s Grange Park playground won the 2017 Wood Design & Building Award. The art-themed destination playground, jointly owned by the Art Gallery of Ontario and the City of Toronto, mimics an artist’s bustling studio with climbable, larger-than-life art tools (a paint can, paint tube, charcoal pencils and painter’s palette). Meant to be played on by young children for years to come, Sansin’s Dec in ultra-saturated and solid hide Blue Jay, Fern Green and Primary Yellow colors was selected for its performance, environmentally friendly benefits, and for its ease of use and maintenance.

NATURALLY PERFECT^® WOOD PROTECTION

Located at the University of British Columbia, The National Soccer Development Centre cedar siding was coated in 2016 with Sansin Wood Sealer, which was chosen for its low-VOC, natural weathering characteristics and ease of maintenance. They wanted exceptional protection and won’t break down with exposure to sunlight, retaining its water-repellency and protecting against weathering and wood rot. The centre includes a 38,000-square-foot fieldhouse and five fields. The centre will serve UBC varsity athletes, community sports and recreation organizations, and Whitecaps teams of all levels. Wood Sealer is a water-borne, penetrating sealer that aggressively repels water and protects against wood rot, while allowing wood to breathe. Over a short time, the wood weathers uniformly to a beautiful silver gray tone. Wood Sealer also comes in an industrial/factory finish version, called Woodforce.
